It all started a few years ago. Erik felt a shooting pain in his left shoulder and elbow. He was in his late 20s and travelling the world as a digital nomad—working all day at his laptop. He ignored the pain, thinking it would go away. It didn’t. He started taking painkillers around the clock. He took them throughout the day so he could work. He took them before bed so he could sleep. He woke up in the middle of the night to take more. The pain spread to his back, neck, wrists and fingers. When he finally saw a physiotherapist it took six months of daily exercises to become pain-free.
Erik knew he had to fix his posture at work to keep his mobile lifestyle. He also knew that others had the same problem. That’s when he contacted his friend Robert back in Sweden. Robert had experience designing and manufacturing products from companies he’d started in the past. They joined forces and got to work with the goal of building a laptop stand that was extremely portable, made from natural materials, and tall enough to give a truly ergonomic posture. They tried dozens of designs and hundreds of iterations until they came up with a winner. The Dragonfly laptop stand was born.
